Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
RoomAI ("the App") is developed and published by Kuru Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the App handles, why, and what your rights are. It applies to the RoomAI Android application and to this website.
2. The only data we store: anonymous app identifiers
To operate the App's credit system we keep two kinds of records, neither of which identifies you personally:
- An anonymous app instance ID — a random identifier created by Firebase Authentication's anonymous sign-in when you first open the App. It is used solely to keep your free credit balance. It is not linked to your name, email address, Google account or any device identifier, and a new one is created if you reinstall the App.
- A hashed purchase reference (subscribers only) — a one-way, non-reversible hash of the purchase token issued by Google Play for your subscription, used to keep your plan and remaining credit balance so they survive reinstalls. It contains no payment or identity information.
We do not collect or store any other personal data. No names, no email addresses, no contact lists, no precise location, no photos — and we do not collect the Google Play Advertising ID.
3. Your photos and designs
- When you generate a design, the room photo you choose is sent over an encrypted connection to Google's Gemini API, which creates the redesigned image. The photo is processed for this purpose only; we do not store your photos on any server of ours. Google processes this data as a service provider under its own terms.
- Your original photos and the generated designs are saved locally on your device only (in the App's private storage, and in your gallery if you choose to save or share them).
- Deleting a design in the App, or uninstalling the App, removes the App's local copies from your device.
4. App permissions and how we use them
- Camera — used only when you tap "take photo" so you can photograph your room. We never access the camera in the background.
- Photos / gallery access — used only through Android's system photo picker when you choose an image, and when you save a finished design back to your gallery. We do not scan, index or upload your photo library.
- Internet — required to send your chosen photo to the AI service and receive the generated design.
5. Subscriptions and payments
The App may offer optional subscriptions or one-off purchases that unlock premium features. All purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing:
- We never see or store your card number, bank details or billing address. Google processes payments under its own privacy policy.
- To provide your entitlements, the App only handles the purchase state and token supplied by Google Play — not your payment details.
- To operate the credit system, we store your current plan and remaining credit balance on our servers (Google Firebase), linked to the anonymised (hashed) purchase reference described in section 2 — so your remaining credits are restored if you reinstall the App and tap "Restore purchases".
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time via the Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the following processors, strictly to run the App:
- Google (Gemini API) — transient processing of the photos you submit for design generation.
- Google Play Billing — payment processing for any purchases.
- Google Firebase — hosts the anonymous credit records described in section 2.
7. Data retention
- Anonymous credit records are retained only while they are needed to provide the service, and become orphaned (no longer linked to any device or person) when you uninstall the App or your subscription ends.
- Photos submitted for generation are not retained by us at all.
- Designs stored on your device remain until you delete them or uninstall the App.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK (Law No. 6698) — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (for example the ICO in the UK, or the KVKK Authority in Türkiye). Because the only records we hold are anonymous identifiers that we cannot link back to you, the most effective control is simply uninstalling the App, which orphans those records. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
RoomAI is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
All network traffic between the App and its service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Your designs are kept in the App's private, sandboxed storage on your device.
11. This website
This website is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics scripts and collects no personal data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example when we introduce subscriptions or new features. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above. Significant changes will also be highlighted in the App.
